What happened:
Wendell Washington, 20, is shot at 3687 Northrop St. and dies from his wounds. Jeremy Reynolds, 27, is charged with first-degree murder. At the time, Reynolds had been out of prison for six months. He'd just gotten out after serving four years of an eight-year sentence for facilitation to commit second-degree murder in a separate, 2005 case. Reynolds is still awaiting trial on the charges in Washington's case.
