What happened:

Chelsea Smith Hayes, 14, is found dead in a wicker chair on an East Lake porch. Carlos Juan Harrison, 18, is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated rape and tampering with evidence. Harrison tells police he and the girl had sex and then fell asleep, and when he awoke she was unresponsive. He says he then moved her to the porch and put her in the chair, but could not explain how she died or how she got injuries on her neck. An autopsy report shows that Hayes was beaten to death. Harrison pleads guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated rape and is sentenced to 25 years on each count.
