What happened:
Leslie Townsend, 25, is shot while sitting in a vehicle in his driveway. He is pronounced dead at a local hospital. Shermaine Menifee is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. The charges are dismissed in 2013 after DNA evidence links another man to the scene of the crime. Both Menifee and Townsend are known gang members.
