What happened:
Police said the call came in at about 12:35 a.m., reporting someone had been shot somewhere along the riverfront. Members of the Chattanooga Fire Department helped police in a lengthy and extensive search along and in the Tennessee River before they found the woman dead, according to a police news release. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
